Do Now: 11/16/10

Complete all of these direction in order!

A. Copy everything on the Homework Page into your planner (new stuff in there!)

B. Write EVERY WORD of Introduction Paragraph Checklist into your language arts notes. Click here

C. Read Art of Persuasion and Intro Paragraph

D. Score Blue Ribbons on ALL StudyIslandAssignments:

  • Username is number@ENPS (for example: 100@ENPS)
  • All assignments due this Friday!

E. Complete as many Reading, Writing, or Review sections as you can on eastnewark.rosettastoneclassroom.com

F. Only if you have finished ALL Study Island Assignments you can work on Extension Projects.  You have to work without talking or getting out of your seat.

Extension Projects you can work on:
1. Draw a picture from any of the stories we’ve read in class so far.  Include the title of the story in the picture.
2. Make a poster for the classroom about one of the topics.  (synonyms, antonyms, first person characters, third person characters)
3. Any projects Mr. Mach has already given you permission to work on, including

Extension Projects due this Friday!

Do Now: November 1st, 2010

Complete all of these direction in order!

A. IMPORTANT: Read ALL directions NOW and raise your hand if you have questions with ANY step.

B. 4 Steps

1. Take out and open 4 Steps and your book.

2. Color TS and CD.

3. Circle where it was signed.

C. Copy everything on the Homework Page into your planner and keep it open

D. Write EVERY WORD of This Week’s Objective exactly the way it is into your planner:

This Week’s Objective:

  1. Complete & Present Extension Projects, Make-up work, and Retests
  2. Visit Harrison Library

D. Complete as many Reading, Writing, or Review sections as you can on eastnewark.rosettastoneclassroom.com

  • Complete at least one lesson now.
  • Password and  username is in your planner.
  • Put headphones back in the small box, and the small box in the big box

E. Do any work that will bring up your grades in my class.

F. Watch One Minute News on BBC and/or Channel One News Show.

Advanced Students: Extra Credit: Write a 3 sentence editorial paragraph on one of the stories.  Use one of each TS, CD, CM.  Clip to the board in number order when you are finished.

G. Work on literature book activities:

  1. Read the next story assigned to you Ransom of Red Chief (8th graders) or The Last Dog (6th & 7th), or
  2. take the test, or
  3. work INDIVIDUALLY on the extension project.

Do Now 10/25/10

Complete all of these direction in order!

A. IMPORTANT: Read ALL directions NOW and raise your hand if you have questions with ANY step.

B. 4 Steps

1. Take out and open 4 Steps and your book.

2. Color TS and CD.

3. Circle where it was signed.

4. Pass your 4 Steps over to your left.

5. Students all the way on the right will put papers in number order.

6. The student all the way on the right in the back will collect the piles of papers and put all of them in number order, paper clip them, and put them in my hand

C. Copy everything on the Homework board into your planner and keep it open

D. Take notes on Objective: Week of 10/24/10

and TTQA (turn the question around)

E. Score Blue Ribbons on ALL StudyIsland Assignments:

Advanced students: complete Advanced Science & Advanced Fact & Opinion
