TTQA (turn the question around) is an important skill that makes you sound more intelligent than giving JUST an answer.
Step 1. Question words, such as where, when, how, what, why get taken out of the answer but all other words stay.
Step 2. Answer the question (make sure you answer all parts of the question!)
Question: “What were two ways to be successful?”
Answer: “Two ways to be successful are hard work and education.”
Question: What is the population of East Newark? (approximately 2000)
Answer: The population of East Newark is about 2000.
NEVER start the answer of a written question with BECAUSE. The word “because” joins ideas, and doesn’t start them.
Advanced students only: There are exceptions, such as in the sentence “Because of the all the hard work the students did, they became rich and famous a few years after graduating.”
