Today, October 6, 2010, I had an awesome day because one of my students won first place in an American Legion poster contest at the borough, county, and state levels. Imagine, if you will, me holding a smiling sixth grader’s hand up in the air triumphantly as 85 middle school students clap for his success.

Imagine, if you will, being interrogated and psychologically tortured for three days and three nights by two tough Tokyo police.
