1. Take out and open 4 Steps and your book. Color TS and CD.
2. Read the post about THIEVE (click here)
3. Use THIEVE on the next story in your Literature Book (6th & 7th Graders read 7th Grade; 8th Graders read Raymond’s Run) using http://www.classzone.com
4.Write one sentence for each letter of THIEVE. Each sentence should be a TS about one thing you learned from that letter.
For example: Using Gary Soto’s 7th Grade
T- I learn by looking at the title that this story will have something to do with the 7th Grade.
H- I learned by reading the Heading that the author, Gary Soto, is from a Mexican family that moved to California, and he writes a lot about his experiences.
I- I learned by reading the Introduction that the setting is a middle school in Fresno, California.
E- I learned by skimming the first line of every paragraph that the story will be about people named Victor, Teresa, Michael, and Mr. Bueller.
V- I learned by looking at the pictures that a teenage girl and a teacher will be very important to this story.
E- I learned by reading the end questions that something important will happen to a boy named Victor in French class.
5. Under your THEIVE results, write one TS summarizing the entire story.
TS- By using THIEVE I believe a summary of 7th Grade is a story about a 7th Grade boy in French class who is flirting with a girl.
